Ngarupaewhenua - Community Health Plan 2024 - 2027
Ngarupaewhenua represents Te Taumata Hauora o Te Kahu o Taonui’s commitment to turning whānau aspirations into real, measurable change across the health system.
Developed to meet our legislative responsibilities under the Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act 2022, this Community Health Plan outlines both what needs to change. Equitable access, culturally competent services, stronger mental health and whānau wellbeing outcomes and how it will be achieved through improved infrastructure, capability, and deep collaboration with Te Whatu Ora and the wider provider network.
Ngarupaewhenua is driven by authentic engagement with whānau, hapū, iwi and communities, ensuring their lived realities shape service design, delivery, and evaluation. It establishes clear priorities, accountability mechanisms, and a framework for ongoing monitoring, innovation, and improvement over the next three years.
This is a call to align the system with whānau needs, embed Māori leadership in decision-making, and ensure that health outcomes in Te Tai Tokerau are equitable, responsive, and sustainable.
